This past Sunday afternoon, Noah, Muluken, Tinsae and Brad went to pick out pumpkins (something Noah has begged us to do since I came home from Ethiopia!). They came home with 3 fairly large pumpkins; one for each of the boys. (Have no idea why they wouldn't get the girls a pumpkin, but oh well!)
Noah and Muluken took the pumpkins out to the field and cleaned out the insides of all three. They then pulled all the seeds from the pumpkin guts and let Brad soak them in water and toast them in the oven. Yummy!
Later that evening, the 2 boys went outside and Noah carved the pumpkin faces. Noah did awesome! (Please note: I had NOTHING to do with letting Noah carve the pumpkins with a sharp knife! That was ALL Brad's doing!)
Later that night, Noah, Muluken and Tinsae called me down to the living room and pointed out to the deck. There were 3 glowing pumpkins sitting on the deck with 3 proud little boys looking on! Adorable!!
The kids didn't have school on Monday (parent-teacher conferences), so the boys played the day away outside. Running, jumping, riding bikes, playing football, etc. They also played with the goats, Yogi & BooBoo.
The boys came into the house later in the afternoon for a break. Yogi & BooBoo missed them, so they climbed up onto the deck and looked into the house, wondering where their friends went.
The next thing you know, Yogi & BooBoo started devouring the pumpkins. Noah started yelling and ran out there. It was just too late. Yogi already had one pumpkin in 4 pieces. Noah would lift the pumpkin up in the air and Yogi would just jump up on Noah and continue to eat.
