We are on our last week of the softball/baseball season…YEAH!!! I have spent
SO MANY hours sitting on bleachers, melting in the sweltering heat! We
did get a LITTLE smarter this year in that we loaded a big cooler in the back
of my truck with Gatorade, water, Caprisuns, and Diet Dew. We packed
sandwiches, string cheese, and chips. It was so much easier on the pocketbook!
Muluken played on the AAA traveling team and Noah played on
the American traveling team. The boys had hour-long practices 3-days per week
with double headers on Tuesday afternoons. Muluken also played on the In-City
Little League team on Monday evenings, while Noah played on the In-City Middle
League team on Wednesday evenings.
Muluken was the second baseman or pitcher (he also played a
catcher for his last traveling team game). Noah played right field and pitcher
and also wherever else they might put him!
Jordan played on a 14U Weyauwega-Fremont softball team,
which included practices a few nights per week, a few evening games per week
and also 3 softball tournaments. Jordan
played catcher and first base, and anywhere else they might put her.
Cassie played on a 16U Breu Crew (her coach’s name is
Breuer) softball team, in which she played mostly tournaments and 2 regular
evening games. Cassie usually played third base, however was placed where
needed too!
And then there is Tinsae…we did not put him on a t-ball team
this year, knowing that all he would want to do is play in the dirt and goof
around! He would rather NOT watch any type of sport, even if his big brothers
and sisters are playing. Tinsae LOVES to EAT from the concession stand and will
start telling us he is hungry before a game would even begin. We would often
try to play a game with him, which would be us asking him to find the “ball” or
“sibling” on the field. That would last a whole few seconds and he would once
again be so BORED!! He is going to be one very happy boy once the
softball/baseball season has come to an end!
